One of our local UofL students, Celeste Atchison, was recently awarded the SWE - Distinguished Service Award at the KSPE Banquet. Congratulations, Celeste!

Kentuckiana SWE!!!

This past weekend was the WE Local in Pittsburgh, PA. Our section won first place award in the Professional Section Professional Development category for "Enriching Your Engineered Life" that was held on October 8, 2016 at the Kentucky Science Center. 

Award was accepted on behalf of the section by Haydee Hetrick. Congratuluations to the Kentuckiana section and many thanks to all those involved with making the event a success!

Stephanie, Farzana, and Miranda represented the Kentuckiana SWE section at the University of Louisville's Women in Engineering Leadership Conference. Upperclassmen had the opportunity to ask questions to the panelists about what was on their mind. 

The event was an exciting opportunity for us to participate in focused on inspiring the female engineering students at U of L. SWE FY17 President Jessica Rannow gave the keynote speech about lessons she's learned from mentors throughout her career and why SWE is Her Constant.

Please join us in congratulating the newest member of our Kentuckiana SWE executive team, Farzana Hussain!

Farzana is a materials and Structural Engineer at UTC Aerospace Systems and will be serving as our communications/outreach chair. 

We are looking forward to having Farzana on the team and strengthening our involvement with the community.
