Farzana Hussain, Outreach Chair
Farzana Hussain is a Materials Scientist and Mechanical Engineer. She has sixteen years of experience with a diverse set of skills in both team leadership and technical roles. She has a record of adaptability across a range of industries and engineering assignments within the aerospace, automotive, biomedical, defense, and plastics industries in the USA and Canada.
Currently, she is working for UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) as a Materials and Structural Engineer.
Hussain has authored numerous journal articles, technical and conference papers, book chapters, and a comprehensive review based on polymer composites and nanocomposite mateirals. Her review article became the top-downloaded and the most read ranking article from 2006 through 2010. She recognized as the author of one of the top 1% most highly cited (~1600 citations) papers in Nanotechnology worldwide.
I hold 3 US Patents which are as follows:
- Flexible Polyimide-Backed Aviation Veneers - US Patent 96825US01-April 2017,Grantor: UTAS
- Heat Resistant Systems and Methods - US Patent 96935US01-April 2017,Grantor: UTAS
